10 EXAMPLES OF GEORGIAN INTERIOR DESIGN - A LUXURIOUSLY MODERN TAKE
Established during the Georgian period of 1714 – 1830 when four King Georges ruled consecutively in Britain, the Georgian interior design style and architecture is renowned for its timeless elegance and graceful grandeur.
With exquisitely balanced proportions, harmonious symmetry and classical detailing, Georgian architecture is perfectly married to interiors of handsome beauty, modern-day luxury and contemporary styling.
Famed for its purity and ordered appearance, Georgian interior design focuses on creating harmony and balance within a space. It celebrates the high ceilings, panelled walling and ornate fireplaces inherent in the architecture with delicate furnishings and uncluttered decor.
Here we share 10 examples of our favourite Georgian interior design projects, showcasing how this classical architecture design style can be glorified with magnificent modern interiors.
1. Living Room Elegance
Enhancing the beautiful cornice detailing, wall panels and fireplace, we infused this living room design with the calming tones of the French grey palette paint by Little Greene and built layers of symmetry with paired paintings, floor lamps and side tables.
With elegant edges and dark wooden legs, these stunning monochrome sofas create a classic and contemporary look, the curvature of the arms adding a sumptuous softness.

2. Bedrooms of Splendour
Referred to as the ‘jewel in the crown’ in Albury Park, a beautifully restored stately home in the Surrey Hills, this 6,000 sqft bespoke apartment offers a truly magnificent master bedroom.
The matching wall mirrors echo the geometry of the ceiling panel quadrants, whilst their golden hues add a rich ambience to the calming metallic colour palette within our bedroom design. The beautifully paired occasional chairs in silver sheen velvet and muted pink sofas continue the elegant symmetry throughout our Georgian interior design, allowing the indulgent bed and end-of-bed bench to form the main focal point within the room.

3. Drawing Room Grandeur
Once an extravagant ballroom, we dressed this opulent 1,000 sqft drawing room in linear alignment with the spectacular Georgian windows, adding a formal air of refinement to the room. The rich red shades of the window panels and bars resound through into the wooden furniture and picture frames, whilst the tartan fabrics add a homely hunting lodge feel.

Emitting a delicate Palladian grandeur, two classical columns lead the eye through into our Georgian interior dining room design; the crystal ceiling light pendants enhancing the majestic the floor-to-ceiling windows as they sit centrally above the elegant dining table.

And a modern twist on more traditional Georgian interior design; the charismatic Zinc Textile fabric chairs with beautiful gold studded detailing add vigour and personality to this elegant design in our Millgate country estate project.

5. Elegant Waiting Areas
In our luxury apartment development design, we paid homage to the original 1815 residence by utilising the original marble and reclaimed fireplace, augmenting the country estate style with this genteel, tapering timber leg sofa and matching timber coffee table.

6. Handsome Hallways
This stunning Andrew Martin table sits centrally in the grand hallway design of this magnificent private residence undertaken by Hamill Homes, its soft edges contrasting beautifully with the linear Julian Chichester oak console table.
