Rushworth Street is a boutique development of nine luxury apartments and penthouses in bustling Blackfriars. The apartments’ have an understated sense of style, the living areas following a muted palette of soft grey walls and cotton white oak floors throughout. The simple design is elegant in its own right, but also offers room for individual expression.
Without a specific brief to work from, we decided to take inspiration from the surrounding area, which is a mix of industrial buildings, small cottages and flea markets. We wanted to create a show apartment with a story to tell, setting out the life of a couple who like the urban, edgy look with a mix of eclectic furniture and home accessories that have been acquired on their own journey through life. We wanted this to be an inspiring scheme that buyers can relate to.
The furniture and styling echoes the character of the apartments with a masculine and slightly industrial feel, achieved by pairing exposed brick wallpaper with vintage leather sofas and iconic pieces of furniture. Bronze and brass detailing in the accessories, sofa studding and furniture edging is subtle but effective, pulling together the scheme in an eclectic manner.
All bedrooms offer sophistication and serenity, with neutral tones and tactile fabrics throughout the curtains, bed throws, rugs and cushions. Each bedroom is given a distinct identity with different accent colours, varying from soft blues to bold mustard and teal. The scheme is completed with the specially selected artwork, all of which is intended to be thought-provoking, with the aim of making the apartment memorable to potential buyers.
